Welcome to The Yard
As a former college football player, weightlifting had been a fundamental part of Joe Cicero’s life for over 20 years. However, he noticed that at most commercial gyms, the most crucial equipment (i.e., the barbell and rack) were often unavailable, causing him to anxiously wait for access or rush through his workouts for whoever was waiting on him. That’s why he founded The Yard, one of the best gyms in the Bay Area, where members and trainers have their own equipment and can be more efficient with their workouts than ever before.
Our Space
When you Go Yard, you’re reserving exclusive hourly access to our workout pods equipped with your very own rack, plates, bench, and dumbbells with fan bikes and rowers near each station. We also offer a common area with all the other kettlebells and whistles you’d hope for.
San Francisco
- Located in Pacific Heights at 2863 California Street
- 3500 sq ft featuring 9 pods, an indoor turf, and outdoor training area.

Mill Valley
- Located at Tam Junction at 215 Shoreline Highway
- 3200 sq ft featuring 8 pods, an indoor turf, and outdoor training area.
